Mary Lynn is best known to audiences for her performance as endearingly crabby computer expert Chloe O’Brian opposite Kiefer Sutherland on Fox-TV’s megahit - but there’s a lot more to this lady than mainframes and dirty bombs. Mary Lynn started as a performance artist and gravitated toward standup comedy almost by default. She was soon cast as a regular on both HBO’s Mr. Show with Bob & David and The Larry Sanders Show on which her character “Mary Lou” cowered before Janeane Garofalo, bonded with Sarah Silverman and (yikes!) smooched Jeffrey Tambor.
As her acting career has taken her in more serious directions, with parts in Mysterious Skin, Punch Drunk Love and the remake of Helter Skelter (where she played Squeaky Fromme) Mary Lynn has remained committed to comedy. Her recent autobiographical one-woman show entitled The Complications of Purchasing a Poodle Pillow was a criticial and audience hit on the West Coast. Now Mary Lynn brings her newest show, Turns Out I'm Funny, to the Lakeshore Theater for two performances Thanksgiving weekend.
