Eli Jones is an eight-piece pop/soul band from Chicago bringing funk to your soul, channeling Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Since forming in 2005, Eli Jones has played some of Chicago’s best clubs and toured the Midwest. The band recently released their first studio record, Make It Right, to a sellout crowd at The Hideout, one of Chicago's premier venues. Stefanie Berecz’s stunning vocal talent imbues the ten-track
record with pure soul power. Gritty, horn-drenched R&B, four-on-the-floor funk, heart-wrenching soul ballads: it’s all there. The songs themselves relate stories of heartache and complicated relationships. In the end, however, you can’t help but feel that Berecz and Co. are trying to mend their broken hearts and make it right.
Joining Eli Jones at the Lakeshore Theater is Algernon and Akasha.

"Soul is still alive, due in part to a bunch of white dudes from Chicago...the real draw here is the band Eli Jones and lead singer Stefanie Berecz, whose dusty, hypnotic voice puts her in line to be another Jennifer Hudson–type success story." - Avant/Chicago
"Keeping the soulful funk alive...a heavy funk monster a la Mother's Finest..." - Here Comes the Flood
"...An original sound borrowing from the greats with hints of pop and blues, keeping it punchy and funky with very few moments of down-time." - Theft Liable To Prosecution
Featuring Stefanie Berez on vocals, Brendan O'Connell (vocals and guitar), Christ Corsale (vocals and guitar), Jeremy Schmidt (bass), John Smilie (drums), Jon Edwards (baritone sax), Jim Schram (tenor sax) and Eric Miller (trombone).
